A New Adventure Begins

For the past couple of years, I’ve been looking at all types of RVs. I’ve explored brand new models, used ones, pull-behinds, and drivable RVs. The brand new ones are definitely pricey, and after some thought, I’ve decided I’d prefer a drivable one. So the big question became: Class A or Class C?

I think I’ve found a Class A 2006 Damon Challenger 353F that’s being sold at a great price. It’s a little larger than what I originally planned on. If everything works out, this could be the perfect start to my RV journey!

Back at playing with Swift

While on this year’s No Destination Vacation, I tried to find nearby wineries, but it proved to be quite a challenge. This inspired me to create an app dedicated to winery locations. I realize this is a major undertaking, especially gathering all that information, so I’m starting with the state of Texas and will see where it leads. Wish me luck on this new project!

No Destination Vacation 2024

In 2023, Abi and I embarked on what we dubbed “The No Destination Vacation.” Our only plan was to explore the region around South Dakota within a six-day timeframe, with no specific stops or hotel reservations. We simply decided to wander and see where the road took us.

During this trip, we visited The Badlands National Park, Mount Rushmore, and Devils Tower in Wyoming. On our way back to Texas, we drove through Colorado and took a thrilling zip line ride across the Royal Gorge. The freedom and spontaneity of our adventure made it an incredible experience, so much so that we’ve decided to do it again this year.

This year, we’re heading to Utah, once again without any hotel reservations. Utah’s stunning National Parks are on our radar, as we both love photography and the state offers perfect landscapes for it. I’ve also decided to document our journey daily this time, sharing updates at the end of each day.

We embark on the No Destination Vacation 2024 on July 19th, and I can’t wait to see where this adventure takes us.

Hello and Welcome to Dan Cloud

What is Dan Cloud, you ask? Back in 2021, during our move from North Carolina to Texas, I had a robust lab setup, and a friend asked, ‘Hey, how do I get access to Dan Cloud?’ And so, the domain was born.

However, life took unexpected turn. My wife of 22 years passed away, I relocated from where we were living in Godley TX, and my lab is no more. Not wanting the domain to go to waste, I decided to transform it into a blog about my randon thoughts. The content and frequency of updates are still uncertain.

I have attempted to start this blog in the past and things kinda just stalled.  Feel free to check back and see where things go and hopefully I dont stall out again.

Wish me luck.
